It's been a long day.
The attack at the Leaky Cauldron was...unexpected, but it probably shouldn't have been. Next time, we'll be more careful.
Dolohov. I need to speak with you about where you're going to stay. It's not safe where you are; I've spoken to Lockhart and he's not averse to your hiding out with him. Do speak to either of us about it, I want to be sure you're taken care of before the term goes back.
I'll speak with the Headmaster very soon about whether or not Draco can come and live with me. I think I'd be somewhere safer than the Tonkses, and the reasons the Headmaster sent Draco to Andromeda instead of me are simply no longer relevant.
I find myself almost looking forward to the students coming back. It's a reassuring, familiar stress.

Professor, my apologies for being something of a git, particularly about the whisky, and for being irresponsible. Wearing the equivalent of a full-body cast for six hours exhausts me beyond words -- particularly when there are fans under the age of 30 fawning all over me. I should have suspected the attack, if not anticipated it.
If the two fine gentlemen who showed up to assist tonight are reading this, please forgive me for shouting at you as I did. Once again, the charm I must use to cover my appearance is the equivalent of sucking down a bottle of fizzy hemlock. I am sorry for taking out my physical exhaustion and frustration on you.
